Coalville Town Beat Team – New Priority Update |
||
Dear Members,
Coalville Town Beat Team – New Priority Update 👮
Below are the new priorities for October 2025 – December 2025, these priorities are shaped by your feedback at meet the team events and Neighbourhood Link Surveys
👮 Retail theft within the town centre and Whitwick Retail Park.
You said: We are aware that local businesses are being subject to thefts. We are also aware that this issue increases around the festive season.
We will: We have developed a patrol strategy to target and disrupt those causing harm. We will continue to monitor and develop intelligence and will look to deal promptly with those identified. We will work with colleagues in our Safer Streets teams and also retailers to promote a safe and crime free environment in local retail areas.
👮 Op Pedalfast - To target the use of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters.
You said:The local area has seen a significant increase in the number of electric bikes and scooters being driven. Although this area is a shared space for pedestrians and cycles the amount, speed and manner in which they were being driven has been raised as an issue by the local community.
We will:Increase visible patrols in hotspot areas to deter dangerous riding and anti-social behaviour. We will engage with local communities and partners to address concerns and promote responsible use. We will share clear guidance on the legal use of e-scooters and e-bikes and encourage reporting of misuse.
👮 Road Safety around local Primary Schools.
You said: You have raised concerns relating to road safety, specifically surrounding our local Primary Schools. This includes driving at excess speed for the location, inappropriate road use and dangerous parking.
We will: We will work with local schools and agencies to seek long term solutions. We will engage with road safety and enforcement teams in order to offer education and will carry out enforcement where appropriate. We will hold speed checks and carry out frequent patrols at the relevant times.
Regards
